Overview
The project provides a thorough policy impact analysis of the EU dairy
markets in the year 2020 regarding the removal of milk quotas within the framework of the
Health Check of the CAP. A rigorous update of the CAPRI model and database has been undertaken,
including an updates of the base year, an econometric estimation of marginal costs and quota rents and a
validation against expert data and medium-term projections on dairy commodities
provided by DG AGRI. A key finding was that the quota rent information is the dominating modelling input for the results.
Contributions of EuroCARE
